Clock

This is something I've been working on this week just for fun - a recreation of the clock-face of Big Ben using Flash. You'll find it in Extras, click the link at the top or here to take a look.

The face was drawn mainly using Adobe Illustrator from a couple of photo references and was by far the part that took the longest to do. This was then imported to Flash and tidied up before the hands were added. The working relies on pulling the system-time of your PC and is only a few lines of Action Script coding. I've been meaning to put this together for some time and made a much simpler clock for Elephant some years ago.

The intention is to turn it into a screensaver but there a bit more work left to do. I have decent sound files for the quarter chimes and hourly bonging but the scripting is much more complicated for that, so is going to need a bit more research and thought. I'll post an update when that's complete.

Oh, and for anyone coming to this via RSS or other syndication - you'll just have to take a look at the site proper. Ner.

Blimey, that's a bit good.

Supposing you were to put a credit to yourself at the bottom, is there any danger of a downloadable, keepable version?

I'm working on a fully quarter-chime and bonging version to convert to a screensaver. When that's done I'll post it up.

And if I keep saying this out-loud I'll have to ;-)
